Corn Seed (Resistant to Narrow Leaf Herbicides)
This single cross hybrid has strong plants, quite tall and full of branches and leaves. This hybrid has significant grain and forage performance and can be cultivated dual-purpose (seed-forage). BK74 hybrid has the ability to grow in most conditions and if under good management (planting operations up to Timely & planned harvesting , will produce good performance. This cultivar is resistant to ultra focus -narrow-leaf herbicide and can conflict with Field's narrow-leaved weeds in two stages of 3-4 leaves and 20 days. After that, if necessary with a dose of 2.5-2 liters per hectare . Due to this feature, this cultivar is especially suitable for areas with high weeds such as the northern part of Iran. In this case, we will no longer have a decrease in forage performance in these areas for this cultivar.In rather warm regions rippening time to 50% , Tasseling approximately 53-58 days , silking 55-60 days Goes to flower a week earlier than 704 corn.The maturity period for this hybrid is about 125-130 days and it belongs to the FAO 650 group. Flowering time of this hybrid is long, but at very high temperatures, it will probably face a decrease in pollination and inoculation. Therefore, it is recommended that the cultivation program, especially in the southern part of Iran, be adjusted so that pollination does not face the annual heat peak. If this happens, it is recommended to minimize the stress on the plant by watering at shorter intervals. The maizes are located in the middle of the plant (height 80-90 cm above the ground). The color of the plants is dark green and due to having completely wide and dense leaves and almost vertical, it has received favorable light, which causes more performance. The maizes are very large, having16-18 rows . The length of the maizes when fully inseminated and properly fed will average 24-26 cm and will produce 44-48 seeds per row.. The weight of 1000 seeds is about 255 to 275 grams and the ratio of seed's weight to maiz reaches more than 75%. In average growing conditions,recommended plant density for cultivating this cultivar is between 65,000-60,000 plants per hectare. This cultivar is relatively sensitive to high densities and increasing the density usually decreases in maizes' size and grain's performance. Therefore, it is recommended that the amount of seed consumed per hectare should not exceed 25 kg (taking into account the percentage of Germination and purity). If the mentioned conditions and proper management are observed, the ability to produce grain performance reach to more than 8.5 tons and There is a forage performance more than 80 tons.
